An old girl in a new dress. Cando Restored

1988 Peterbilt With A Super 50 Challenger Rotaor.
The tows this truck has done and the stories it could tell. Cando the most famous tow truck in the world has a new paint job. All the dents and scratches have been removed her chrome and wheels are polished. This well known Peterbilt was originally the tractor that pulled Challenger wreckers trailer. When Bill Bottoms made the deal to build the first 50-ton, rotator for Jim Stepp there was one problem. Jim did not want to wait for Peterbilt to build him a truck. Bill was out of stock and could not find a truck anywhere. Just like in a movie Bill looked out the window of his office and thought for a moment, then he called Jim on the phone "I have just the truck for our new rotator." The tow truck was so successful it is an icon of the towing industry. One day along comes Revell who copies the wrecker down to the American flag. Cando became one of Revells most popular 1/25 scale truck models. Jim has worked Cando harder then any other wrecker, he also takes care of it. In 2001 it was sent to Jerr-Dan so a new under lift could be installed. It took the factory over 100 hours to complete the update. Today it is on the way to the Florida Tow Show, Again
