Herb's
towing doing demo with 80ton rotator from NRC, lifting 4 axle mixer
up on FAR SIDE of 50 ton rotator (reaching over the top) and rotating it
around to simulate a recovery where one has to reach over an obstruction
or
another truck to recover another heavy vehicle. Note that the boom is so
long that it was not even necessary to use the third stage and at some
times
the second stage wasn't even all the way out. Also note the chain and
equipment box on the back of the wrecker. It is full of all the rigging
equipment (i.e. spreader bars). It is lifted off the box by the boom,
dropped beside the casualty so it can be rigged up without having to
carry
the equipment the distance from the truck. Then the box is re-positioned
out of the way while the recovery is done, and then when the equipment
is
re-loaded after the recovery, it is reloaded onto the wrecker
(when the mastis slid forward again). DWG

John Roger here is the picture you ask me for.
Strollo's removed the 1701 from Brutus because
it was sold. The buyer had a chassis of his own.
So Shawn mounted a fifth wheel and added a 600
Holmes Mast with winches and side legs.
An old truck with a new purpose. Inexpensive too.
